Girl set for another Bumper success

MILL HOUSE GIRL, a mare who looks to have a bright future, can land the nap in the Sanglamore and Ballykisteen Stud Bumper at Tipperary this evening.

Girl set for another Bumper success

She is already the winner of two such events, but it is her latest fourth at the Punchestown Festival which indicated this may be a horse of real quality.

The five-year-old contested arguably the best event of its kind run for the whole season and emerged with reputation greatly enhanced.

Shane Donohoe's charge finished a highly creditable fourth behind Leading Run, Hairy Molly, successful previously at Cheltenham, and Lord Over, with a host of previous success-stories behind.

Cobham, who appeared much improved when cruising to a ten lengths victory at Clonmel last month, is the biggest worry.

The other Bumper on the programme, the Portrait Gallery and Kilfeacle Stud Race, can go to Daramas. He will revel in the ground, showing his appreciation of a sound surface at Limerick last time when runner-up behind Snap Tie. The form was boosted when fourth placed Forthefarmer scored subsequently.

Michael O'Brien's Silent Jo, who beat Balakan at Punchestown a week ago, is difficult to oppose in the Munster Heros Hurdle.

The second division of the Ballykisteen Maiden Hurdle has to be regarded as a match between Telemachus and Tomorrow's Dream, although neither is for the faint-hearted. Narrow preference is for Telamachus, who has consistently disappointed over flights, but who has run well in three flat races of late, and that, hopefully, will have sweetened him up.
