Rely on Reside to get off mark

CLONMEL, hopefully, can prove itself one of the better ‘all-weather’ courses in the country by getting the game back on track this evening.

CLONMEL, hopefully, can prove itself one of the better ‘all-weather’ courses in the country by getting the game back on track this evening.

Dermot Weld's once-raced Reside looks nap material in the opening Irish Stallion Farms' EBF Fillies Maiden.

Conditions are bound to be testing, but the selection, as a daughter of Montjeu, should handle them with greater aplomb than most!

She made a promising start at Ballinrobe just over three weeks ago, beaten a length and a half into second spot by Destiny Do Buy.

That winner went a spanking gallop throughout and there was plenty to like about the manner in which Reside stuck to her task.

Another who will relish the ground is Walk In My Shadow and Austin Leahy's mare is the one to beat in the Knockmealdown Handicap.

Her record so far this campaign is two successes in three runs and the five-year-old may still have a bit in hand of the handicapper.

She beat Cove Mountain (gave 11lbs) half a length at Killarney and is certainly fancied to confirm those placings.

Walk In My Shadow competes now off a mark 6lbs higher, but can improve again for stepping up a furlong and a half or so in trip.

Willie Mullins' Cobham gets the nod in the Kilsheelan Bumper. He ran his best race to date here earlier in the month, half a length runner-up to Square Root, and a repeat of that should see him go very close.
