Progressive Cullen set to strike again

WILLIE MULLINS has prospects of a first and last race double at Tipperary tonight, should the meeting get the green light following an 8am inspection.

Mullins' Josephine Cullen is strongly fancied to land the July Summer Festival at Tipperary Hurdle. This is a mare who is rapidly on the upgrade, producing a career-best effort at the Punchestown Festival.

Positively ridden by Ruby Walsh, she bolted in by eight lengths from Very Green and English challenger, Jack The Giant.

The form has been working out nicely, with Very Green going on to score easily at Kilbeggan and Qassas, 12th at Punchestown, won at Clonmel last week.

Former pointer Snowy Morning could do the business for Mullins in the Sanglamore At Ballykisteen Stud Bumper.

He got off the mark at the first time of asking on the racecourse when beating Joe Crowley's Oscar Lyons a short head at Ballinrobe, giving the impression there was plenty to come.

Ruby Walsh is a significant booking for Robert Tyner's Askthemaster in the first division of the maiden hurdle and the six-year-old is the one to beat.

Askthemaster stayed on strongly on this track last month, taking a bumper by five lengths, and it seems safe to assume he will have been well schooled for this his initial test over jumps.

The second section of the same contest is far more open. The vote falls on John Murphy's Liss Ard. A smart horse when on song, he has shown in the past he is capable of going really well when fresh.
