Airmount will push Tyrur Jenny all the way

IF trial times are anything to go by, then we are in for a very fast session in the opening round of the McCarthy Insurance Group Cork Oaks at Curraheen Park tonight.

Paul Hennessy’s track specialist Tyrur Jenny will be all the rage in the opening heat and put down a marker with a sparkling 28.47 win last week. But she will need to be motoring , for the much travelled Airmount Liz clocked 28.48 in a trial here last week and is sure to throw down the gauntlet.

Foyle Honcho has good Thurles form and an excellent 28.46 suggest she is good enough to take heat two. However, dangers abound and if Baby Joanne , Mountleader Neve and Castlemary Socks can get in the firing line early on, then we should have some race.
