Gannon in seventh heaven

APPRENTICES Olive Gaule and Cathy Gannon both displayed their talents when recording victories at Sligo last night.

Gannon in seventh heaven

Brown Carraig made every yard of the running in the opening Irish Stallion Farms Auction Maiden, giving Gaule a second success of her career. And the winner, a daughter of General Monash will be given a short break before being aimed at the 40,000 Goffs Autumn Bonus at Cork in September, according to her trainer Joe Crowley.

Trainer Eddie Lynam withdrew Lady Kia from the Sligo Claiming Race but landed the spoils with 2/1 favourite Lady Prague, which was following up a recent win at Down Royal. Produced with a well-timed challenge early in the final furlong, Lady Prague gave Cathy Gannon her 7th win of the season.
