What we were treated to was an exhibition of bookmaking, margins reduced right down to the bone and a case of may the best man win.

The 5-6 on offer about Best Mate in the Gold Cup was a magical price and if the layers had got him turned-over, in favour of 33-1 shot, Sir Rembrandt, then no one would have begrudged them a real touch.
