Lynch picks up seven-day ban

FERGAL LYNCH joined the growing list of jockeys to be suspended for not riding out to the line when he was one of five riders in trouble at Doncaster yesterday.

Lynch picks up seven-day ban

Lynch momentarily eased up on the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Navado in the ‘Home Of Sunday Racing’ Stakes and was beaten a head for third spot by Night Sight, the mount of Dominic Fox.

The jockey was found to be in breach of Rule 156 (i) and as it was his first such offence in the last 12 months, he was given the minimum seven days.

He will be out of action from July 8-14 inclusive, which includes Newmarket’s July Meeting.

Other jockeys in trouble were Paul Hanagan, Philip Robinson, Dean McKeown and Keith Dalgleish.

Hanagan was referred to Jockey Club headquarters at Portman Square under the totting-up procedure after not riding to his draw, on Blythe Spirit in the ‘Pablo’ Rated Stakes.
