Dorans Pride rolls back the years

The now-fourteen-year-old certainly didn't disappoint his legion of supporters as he made a triumphant return to action with his trainer's stable amateur Richie Harding in the seven-runner open.

Dorans Pride was involved in a battle royale with Mucky Man from three out with the veteran asserting on the approach to the last. He eventually triumphed by seven lengths from the gallant Mucky Man (Brian Hassett) with Sober Performance and Liz Doyle a further twenty lengths adrift in third.

"He has been exercising every day and as he was in such good form, we came to the conclusion that we would run him again as we were not going to simply leave him out in a field, " said trainer Hourigan.

"He has been in training ten years and he will run away in 'points' for the present. He will probably run again in a fortnight and we will play it by ear regarding the Cheltenham Foxhunters."
