TIMMY MURPHY is keeping his cool ahead of the big ride on triple Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate at Exeter today.

With Best Mate’s regular rider Jim Culloty sidelined with a broken thumb, Murphy will be partnering the nine-year-old for the first time when he makes his seasonal reappearance in the William Hill Chase.

“It’s a great honour to ride such a talented chaser in Best Mate. I know thousands will be at Exeter tomorrow, but I’m not feeling any pressure,” said Murphy.
