Promising Rihla looks poised to get off the mark

TIPPERARY this evening passed a 9.00 inspection yesterday morning and punters can now make the best of it by supporting John Oxx’s once-raced Rihla to take the Irish Stallion Farms’ Fillies Maiden.

Promising Rihla looks poised to get off the mark

The daughter of Soviet Star made her debut on this track a week ago, on heavy ground. She performed with distinct promise and it is encouraging that Oxx turns her out again so quickly.

She contested a seven furlongs conditions race last week, staying on strongly to finish a creditable third behind previous winners, Jemmy’s Brother and Oversighted.

One formed the opinion Rihla’s turn would not be long delayed and stepping up almost two furlongs in trip can only be in her favour.

There are a couple of interesting challengers, chief among them being Dermot Weld’s Floscula, sixth behind current Epsom Derby favourite, Yeats, at the Curragh in September.

The Ballydoyle horses continue in terrific form and Aidan O’Brien has already unveiled some smart juveniles.

He takes the wraps off another in the opening maiden, In Excelsis, and this American-bred son of Fusaichi Pegasus can hardly be opposed!

The Bumper has the makings of a decent contest, bringing together potentially smart horses in the shape of Breach Of Trust, Doctors Orders, Glacial Moss and Tengo Ambro.

Breach Of Trust was beaten two lengths into second spot by the useful Captain Sunshine at Cork last time and had Doctors Orders three and a half lengths away in fourth spot.

Doctors Orders gets a hopeful vote on this occasion, however, having shown a couple of times previously that he revels in testing conditions.
