Daybreak looks night’s banker

DYRICK DAYBREAK can hardly be opposed in the www.fairyhouseracecourse.ie Hurdle at the Co Meath track this evening.

Daybreak looks night’s banker

David Kiely’s mare comes here in good shape, following some decent efforts of late. She was fourth on the flat to Dash Of Grey at Gowran Park and previously ran two excellent races over flights.

Dyrick Daybreak was runner-up to the smart Accordion Etoile at Punchestown and then split the subsequent winners, Lost In The Rain and Fairwood Present at Roscommon.

Louisville is the only possible danger, but would be no less than 13lbs better off in a handicap.

Victor Sherlock could be tossed into the Fairyhouse Membership 2005 Handicap Chase and gets the nap.

Certainly, he produced a much improved performance over hurdles at Bellewstown last week and if stripping in the same sort of humour now will take plenty beating. On hugely unfavourable weight terms, the nine-year-old ran a cracker to be beaten three parts of a length and two lengths into third behind Fairwood Present and Moydrum Castle.

Alpha Blues, seven lengths second to Star Performance at Tipperary, may prove best of a moderate lot in the Kilsallaghan Beginners Chase.

At Wexford tonight, Dow Jones, who battled strongly to score by a short head at Limerick a week ago, can enjoy a quick follow-up in the Bunclody Handicap.

He stayed on dourly to resist Moore’s Law then and is fancied to make light of a 5lbs hike in the weights.

Bassett Tiger, who made a couple of minor, but crucial, errors when second to Whatsgoingonbob on this track at the end of May, should defy top weight in the Carlsberg Lager Handicap Chase.
