Nice double for O’Connor’s

The O’Connor family from Saleen, Tarbert, brought off a very nice double at Ballyheigue.

Nice double for O’Connor’s

In the White Sands hotel All Age Cup (€3,000 winner) Razor Piper, owned by the Speed Way Syndicate, was a 20/1 shot before coursing but was down to 5/2 after winning two rounds.

On his way to the final he defeated Mystery Jack (½l) and Princess Paula (2l).

At the top of the card Sullane Lee accounted for the even money overnight favourite Joby’s Guest (½l) and he had 2½l to spare from Bolt The Door in the semi final.

In the final Razor Piper bolted from slips as Sullane Lee struggled. At the turn Razor Piper had 2l where it mattered most.

In the All Aged Bitch stake Razor Lady, a litter sister of Razor Piper, completed the double for the O’Connors.

She impressed in every course and made it look easy by having a long lead from Dune Boy Hilltown, the property of Andrew Myles, Killarney.

Abbeydorney trainer Dan Brassil turned out Big In The Ring to win the Oaks Trial Stake. She accounted for the overnight even money joint favourite Creggane Rose, owned by Katie Bourke, Tralee, by 4l in a one-sided final.

Tralee trainer Tom Horgan upset the odds in the Reserve Derby Trial Stake with his charge Coolree Blue Boy. The Nenagh owned dog put away the red hot favourite Dynamic World and Ballway Lad to reach the final where the Tom Murphy (Brosna) owned Dromore Cool ran him to a just-up decision.
