Showjumper Hanley misses out

Showjumper Cameron Hanley’s bid to end his successful weekend in Aarhus on a high note came unstuck at yesterday’s grand prix. Riding Qualdandro, he made it to the jump-off when attempting to augment his hat-trick of wins at the Danish venue.

However, his last fence aberration meant he settled for eighth in a competition won by Norway’s Geir Guilliksen, aboard Cortaflex Kristel.

On Friday, 31-year-old Hanley claimed the second class with Constella Z. He followed this with a double on Saturday, claiming victory in the Youngster Cup with the eight-year-old grey Celanus.

His hat-trick was completed when his fast clear round on Woutlands Pomery helped the Men’s No 1 team to triumph.
