McCoy facing longer absence
McCoy suffered the injury after taking a heavy fall on the Martin Pipe-trained Kymberlya at Worcester on June 18.
The rider had been hoping to return in the next couple of weeks.
However, after meeting with orthopaedic surgeon Dr Michael Foy today, McCoy has put his return on hold for a short while longer.
He said: “I met with Mike Foy, my orthopaedic specialist today. My right arm was X-rayed showing that the bone is healing very well. But he says the injured area is not 100 per cent strong yet and should be given a further three weeks to be so.
“I am working on my fitness and have embarked on a specially designed programme. My aim is not to return until the arm is 100 per cent,” he added.
