Dobbin recovering after fall
The jockey was taken to hospital following his tumble at the third fence in the Pat De Clermont Handicap Chase when he appeared to be partially trapped by the gelding.
His injury was not as bad as first feared and he was later released from hospital. He took the X-rays home with him and is to see a specialist.
“I’ve not spoken to Tony but his wife says that he’s still sore this morning. I don’t know as yet when he’ll be back riding,” said Dobbin’s agent Richard Hale.
Hale also looks after Henry Oliver, who was also in the wars at Kelso.
He was stood down for the rest of Monday after a fall on Caymans Gift at the first hurdle in the Cheviot Rentals Marquee Hire ’National Hunt Novices’ Hurdle.
Oliver was ’shaken’ and will need to pass the doctor before he resumes riding.
Oliver confirmed he was none the worse for the fall.
He said: “I’m not too bad. I rode out for Richard Guest this morning and it was fine. I’ll be back at the weekend.”
