HE SAID SO looks set to start favourite for Saturday’s Kerry Agri Business St Leger final after a truly determined display in the second semi.

The brilliant son of Top Honcho took a number of hefty bumps for the second week running, but his will to win proved a potent weapon when it came to the business end.

Jokeyaid and Deerfield Mover swapped the lead during the course of the race, but despite encountering a less than clear run, He Said So came through the field to challenge on the run in. Deerfield Mover led into the home straight after taking the lead between the final two bends, but he couldn’t contain He Said So, who got up on the line to beat his rival by a shorthead in 30.07. Any Name Burglar claimed the third qualifying spot a further length away.
