Final tributes to Sangster

LEADING figures from the world of horseracing gathered yesterday for the funeral of legendary owner and breeder Robert Sangster.

Final tributes to Sangster

A packed congregation at the ornate church of St Paul's, Knightsbridge, heard tributes to one of the sport's greats, who died earlier this month, aged 67, after a battle against cancer.

Lester Piggott, who rode many of Sangster's big-race winners when he was champion owner, was present in the congregation along with leading figures from the British Horseracing Board and the Jockey Club.
