Curragh badly needs Motivator in Derby line-up

THE Curragh executive must be praying Michael Bell does the ‘right thing’ and brings Motivator to headquarters for the Irish Derby on June 26.

Quite frankly, without him, the biggest day in Irish flat racing threatens to be something of a damp squib.

The weekend told us all we need to know about the three-year-olds. There are only two proper stayers among the lot of them, Motivator and Andre Fabre’s Hurricane Run, completely out of luck in the French Derby at Chantilly on Sunday.
