Rakti on target for Leopardstown

RAKTI is bang on target for the Baileys Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 11 - provided the ground is suitable.

A multiple Group One winner over 10 furlongs, including in this year’s Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, Rakti had been due to contest the Juddmonte International at York last month but was withdrawn by trainer Michael Jarvis because of the soft ground.

Although the five-year-old won in lesser company on the soft when trained in Italy, he did not handle those conditions when a very disappointing eighth in the Coral-Eclipse in July.
