Adeleke closes season with fourth place finish in London, O'Sullivan takes fifth in 800m

Rhasidat Adeleke closed her season with a fourth-place finish over 200m at the Athlos meeting in London on Friday night, the Dubliner clocking 22.64.
The race was won by Olympic champion Gabby Thomas in 22.13. Sophie O'Sullivan was in action at the same event over 800m, the 24-year-old clocking 2:00.53 to finish fifth, with Britain's Keely Hodgkinson winning in 1:56.40.
On a cool night at the StoneX Stadium in north London, the all-female meeting featured six events with six athletes in each discipline.
This was the third edition of Athlos, which is the brainchild of Alexis Ohanian, the husband of Serena Williams and a successful entrepreneur who is a huge investor in women's sport.
Adeleke earned $15,000 for finishing fourth, with O'Sullivan taking home $10,000 for finishing fifth.
Adeleke had clocked 22.81 last weekend at the World Ultimate Championship in Budapest, finishing fifth in her semi-final. She broke her own Irish record to win 200m silver in Birmingham last month, clocking 22.28, having overcome two hamstring tears earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, eight Irish athletes will be in action in Copenhagen this weekend at the World Road Running Championships.
The event will feature almost 500 athletes from 85 nations, with six individual world titles on offer.
Saturday's programme will see the mile and 5km titles decided, with the half harathon on Sunday.
Sarah Healy and Laura Nicholson will be the first of the Irish in action in the women's mile, with Andrew Coscoran and Cathal Doyle going in the men's mile soon after.
Healy finished fifth in the 1500m and fourth over 5000m at the Europeans in Birmingham last month and followed it up with a 3:57.42 season's best over 1500m at the Silesia Diamond League.
Coscoran produced a superb run to win 1500m bronze in Birmingham and the Irish record-holder clocked an outdoor mile PB of 3:49.68 on the track in Oslo in June.
He will face a world-class field in Copenhagen that includes world 1500m champion Isaac Nader, Olympic 1500m bronze medallist Yared Nuguse and world indoor 800m bronze medallist Mohamed Attaoui.
Brian Fay and Darragh McElhinney will carry Ireland's hopes in the men's 5km, a race that features world 10,000m champion Jimmy Gressier and Olympic and World Ultimate 5000m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
Peter Lynch and Hiko Tonosa will line up in the men's half marathon on Sunday. Lynch had a breakthrough performance at the London Marathon in April, clocking 2:06:08 to break the national record.
Tonosa will look to improve on his 60th-place finish at the inaugural World Road Running Championships in Riga in 2023.
The Irish pair will line up alongside some of the biggest names in distance running, including multiple Olympic and world champion Joshua Cheptegei and Sweden's European half marathon record holder Andreas Almgren.
