Luke Littler continues his quest to make history at the World Series of Darts finals this weekend.

The world champion is aiming to become the first player to win all 10 televised major tournaments in a calendar year, having triumphed in the first five.

Littler has already lifted the World Championship, World Masters, UK Open, Premier League and World Matchplay in a dominant 2026, where he also won the World Cup with compatriot Luke Humphries.

The great Phil Taylor did hold all of the majors at the same time during 2009 and 2010, but not in the same calendar year, and there were less of them.

Littler’s attempt at the clean sweep heads to Amsterdam for the World Series of Darts finals, where he takes on home favourite Danny Noppert in the opening round on Friday.

The 19-year-old admits it would be “gutting” if his quest ended in the Netherlands, where he won in 2024 but lost to Michael van Gerwen in last year’s final.

“Not winning would be the end of trying to get every major,” he told the Press Association.

“Yeah, it’d be gutting, but I’ve got all the attributes to go on and win the title again.” Van Gerwen could be Littler’s biggest threat at the title on home soil. Littler extended his winning record over the Dutchman in the semi-finals of the recent Czech Darts Open.

“Michael was playing very well in Czechia,” he added. “He didn’t play his best game against me and I’ve just got to take advantage of it. I’ve got to get those wins under my belt against Michael.

“In 2024 I won it and then 2025 last year Michael beat me. I’ve got a good record over there at the World Series. Hopefully we can go and win it and keep the clean sweep on.” Van Gerwen opens up against Daryl Gurney on Thursday, still reminiscing about his victory last year.

“I had goosebumps – it was amazing to hold a trophy again,” said Van Gerwen, who also lifted the title in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2023.

“I had to dig really deep and to win in front of my home crowd meant a lot to me.

“I was playing some fantastic darts and that gives you energy, that gives you joy, and I’m really glad I could perform like this.” Luke Humphries plays Jermaine Wattimena in a tough opening round.
