Withstanding constant and unrelenting pressure Welsh ace Elfyn Evans and co-driver Scott Martin took their Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 to victory in Rally Sweden, the second round of the World Rally Championship where their team mates Japan's Takamoto Katsuta and Northern Ireland's Aaron Johnson finished just 3.8s behind to give the Toyota team its second 1-2 of the season. Defending World Rally champions Belgian pair Thierry Neuville and Martin Wydaeghe (Hyundai i20 N Rally1) finished third, 11.9s off top spot.
The Irish crew of Kilrea's Josh McErlean and Killeagh's Eoin Treacy were holding down eighth place until they hit a snow bank on yesterday's (Sunday) first stage, they re-joined under Super Rally finishing 46th.
