Smashing records has become a common occurrence for Jakob Ingebrigtsen, but never had he done something like this: breaking two in one race.
At the World Indoor Tour Gold meeting Lievin, France, on Thursday night, the 24-year-old Norwegian unleashed a polished, pristine performance to clock the fastest indoor times in history for both 1500m and the mile, hitting the line in 3:45.14 to rewrite the indoor mile world record of 3:46.63, set by Yared Nuguse just last weekend in New York.
