Murphy overtakes Carr to win Junior A road bowling crown

Michael Murphy is All-Ireland Junior A champion after a dramatic win at Castletownkenneigh.

 

Michael Murphy is All-Ireland Junior A champion after a dramatic bowl of odds win over Ulster champion Pete Carr at Castletownkenneigh.

He trailed by well over a bowl at one point, he took a crunching tumble in the middle of the score and was engaged in a line call with the referee. He somehow found the resources to turn it all around, thanks in no small measure to three huge closing shots and some leniency from his opponent.
