Ireland's silver-winning Women’s 4x400m Relay team at the 2024 European Athletics Championships,
Twelve years have passed since Ireland’s last Olympic medal in athletics – Rob Heffernan’s race walk bronze in 2012 – but hopes are high that drought might be set to end after the Olympic Federation of Ireland announced its team for this year’s Games.

Today’s selections brings to 122 the total number of athletes officially announced on Team Ireland, surpassing the previous largest team (116).
