Flexachem Killorglin have announced the signing of Ireland international Jordan Blount.

The 6' 8" forward, a native of Cork, spent the last two seasons with Neptune. The 27-year-old starred for the University of Illinois Flames in college basketball before playing professionally in Spain and Iceland. He joined Neptune ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Super League side Killorglin described the signing as a "huge statement of intent" for the 2024/25 season.

''Excited is an understatement about this next move in my career," Blount said about joining the Kerry club.

"I think this decision aligns perfectly with the timing of my family and career goals. I’ve watched Flexachem KCYMS from afar over the last few years and feel like they’ve done a really good job and I feel that I can be that final piece to help the team bring some silverware to the club".

Blount, who was named Ireland vice-captain ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European pre-qualifiers, has played at every level for his country. He was part of the Irish side which won the FIBA European Championship for Small Countries in 2021.

Killorglin chairman Vinny Croke called Blount a "big signing for the team".

"To have a player like Jordan wanting to come join Flexachem KCYMS Super League is huge as it shows how we have made progression these past years at national level basketball," Croke continued, "and hopefully with getting what is in my view the top Irish player in the country right now makes a major statement of intent.

Last season was one of Killorglin's strongest in the Super League as they finished just outside the playoff places. The 2023/24 campaign finished slightly prematurely for Blount due to a broken foot.
