Stephen Spillane rescued what looked a lost cause with two great last shots to capture the William Wolf Cup at Waterloo, by one metre at the expense of Liam McCarthy.

This was the first running of the novel contest since 2019. In 2020 it was cancelled at the last minute because of changes in covid restrictions. As well as shining a light on lesser known bowlers, it also brings the game back to an historic venue that was lost to bowling for decades.
