The Jennifer O’Donnell-trained Born Warrior dug deep to hold off Ballymac Finn and win the Boylesports Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night.

Callaway Pro Am, sent off the 7-4 favourite, never recovered after losing his balance on the first bend, eventually finishing fourth, one place behind Crafty Kokoro.

But victory belonged to 11-2 shot Born Warrior who more than lived up to his name when Ballymac Finn threw down a determined challenge in the closing stages.
