Fionnuala McCormack has narrowly missed-out on a medal after a fourth-place finish in the Women's 10,000 metres final at the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam.

The Wicklow runner produced one of the best performances of her career over the distance, but trailed-in well behind the winner, Yasmine Can of Turkey.
