McQuaid loses support of Swiss Federation in race for cycling presidency

The Swiss Cycling Federation have withdrawn their nomination for Pat McQuaid to run for a third term as UCI President.

After already losing the support of Cycling Ireland, Mr McQuaid was hoping to use his Swiss residency to win the right to stand for re-election in next month's election battle against his challenger, Brian Cookson.

However, the Swiss Federation have now withdrawn their support ahead of an arbitration hearing that was due to be held in Geneva on Thursday.
