International Cycling Union (UCI) president Pat McQuaid will not withdraw his bid to be re-elected despite suffering the embarrassment of the Swiss federation withdrawing their nomination.

Pat McQuaid’s bid for a third term as president of the International Cycling Union has suffered a further setback after Swiss Cycling confirmed it has withdrawn its nomination of him.

The Swiss Cycling Federation have withdrawn their nomination for Pat McQuaid to run for a third term as UCI President.

Pat McQuaid has branded reports that the Swiss Cycling Federation had revoked their nomination of him for the UCI Presidency next month as “complete bullshit”.

Embattled UCI President Pat McQuaid believes he has “completely changed the culture of doping” in cycling since he came into power in 2005.
