Ireland’s Martyn Irvine was left bitterly disappointed after finishing 11th in the men’s omnium at London 2012 but has vowed to use his frustration to push himself on.

Irvine arrived at the Games with an optimistic hope of pushing for the podium, but his medal chances were gone when he reached the halfway stage of the six-discipline event in 10th place yesterday.
