Irish cyclist Dan Martin has finished third in the Tour de Pologne.

Irish cyclist Dan Martin has finished third in the Tour de Pologne.

Slovakia’s Peter Sagan won the stage race after finishing second in the seventh and final stage in Krakow.

Liquigas rider Sagan won two stages in the event, with back-to-back victories in the fourth and fifth.

Italy’s Marco Marcato, with Vacansoleil-DCM, placed second overall while the reigning champion Martin – ended in third.

Marcel Kittel was victorious on the day, his fourth stage win after leading the way in the first three stages.
