Defending champion Mardy Fish cruised into the semi-finals of the Atlanta Tennis Championships with a comfortable straight sets win over Somdev Devvarman.

The world number nine took 56 minutes to dispatch his Indian rival 6-4 6-3 and set up an all-American last-four clash with teenager Ryan Harrison.

The 19-year-old recovered from a set down to edge a thrilling encounter with compatriot Rajeev Ram 4-6 6-1 7-6 (7/5).

John Isner also progressed although he hardly needed to break sweat to see of Yen-Hsun Lu 6-1 6-2.

Isner will be favourite to make it an all-American final after Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller upset third seed Kevin Anderson 7-6 (7/3) 7-6 (7/3).
