Bartoli sees off Ivanova

Second seed Marion Bartoli had little trouble in easing through the second round of the BMW Open in Malaysia today.

The 24-year-old world number 17 saw off the challenge of Russia’s Ekaterina Ivanova 6-2 6-1.

Third seed Michaella Krajicek also progressed, but had to work much harder for her win, a 3-6 6-4 6-3 success over Alisa Kleybanova.

On a day of expected results, the fourth and fifth seeds also went through.

Fourth seed Jarmila Groth saw off Misaki Dou 7-6 (8/6) 6-3 and fifth seed Lucie Safarova knocked out Dinara Safina 6-3 4-6 6-3.
