Andy Murray crashed out of the Madrid Open tonight after losing a gruelling quarter-final clash in straight sets to David Ferrer.

Andy Murray crashed out of the Madrid Open tonight after losing a gruelling quarter-final clash in straight sets to David Ferrer.

Murray, who also lost to the same opponent at the Rome Masters last month, battled back well following a poor start but he could not turn that into victory as Ferrer claimed a 7-5 6-3 triumph in two hours and 11 minutes.
