Messi named in Argentina team

Lionel Messi looks set to remain in China for the Olympic Games after being named in the starting line-up for Argentina’s opening game against Ivory Coast.

Barcelona are yet to officially announce a decision on Messi’s participation in the Games, after the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that clubs could not be forced to release players because the Olympics do not appear on the official FIFA calendar.
