Federer returns to form

Roger Federer got back to winning ways in the Tennis Masters Cup today.

The Swiss world number one lost his opener to Fernando Gonzalez of Chile in the Round-Robin phase.

But top seed Federer brushed aside the challenge of Russia's Nikolay Davydenko, eclipsing the fourth seed 6-4 6-3.

In another match, Andy Roddick of the United States dispatched Gonzalez 6-1 6-4.
