Serena Williams was not having it so easy in her first-round match at the French Open with wet weather making an unwelcome appearance on Suzanne Lenglen court.

The American, back at Roland Garros after a two-year absence, looked rusty and was 6-5 down in the opening set to unheralded Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova before the players were called off.
