Nadal edges home

Rafael Nadal recovered from the brink of defeat to edge a five-set Centre Court thriller and avoid falling victim to the biggest shock of the Championships so far.

The second seeded Spaniard trailed by two sets and twice stood two points from an early exit against American world number 237 Robert Kendrick before rallying for a 6-7 3-6 7-6 7-5 6-4 success.
