Kuznetsova battles through to final

Svetlana Kuznetsova hit back from a set and a break down to defeat Nicole Vaidisova and advance to the French Open final.

The Russian was two points from defeat when Czech 17-year-old Vaidisova levelled the second set tie-break at 5-5.

But the number eight seed raised her game at the crucial moment and ran through the deciding set to seal a 5-7 7-6 (7/5) 6-2 triumph.

She will face either Kim Clijsters or Justine Henin-Hardenne in tomorrow’s final.
