Chris Newton wins third stage of FBD Rás

Chris Newton has retained the leaders yellow jersey after the third stage of the FBD Rás.

The 2003 winner was the first to cross the finishing line after today’s 156-kilometres from Tubercurry to Lisdoonvarna.

In a carbon copy of yesterday's finish, Newton piped Yorkshireman Malcolm Elliot at the line.

The top of general classification remains unchanged after today's stage, meaning Tim Barry of the Tipperary Dan Morrissey team remains the best of the Irish in sixth place.
