Olympic discus champion Robert Fazekas is being investigated for a possible drugs offence and could be stripped of his gold medal.

The 29-year-old Hungarian won his title last night at the Olympic Stadium with an Olympic record throw of 70.93 metres.

But he has been accused of tampering with his sample after the final, with Hungarian officials claiming that Fazekas was unable to produce enough urine for the testers.

The International Olympic Committee are believed to have launched an investigation into the case, with Dr Karoly Piko, the medical chief with the Hungarian Athletics Federation, representing Fazekas.

Meanwhile, Belorussian high jumper Aleksey Lesnichiy has tested positive for banned anabolic agent clenbuterol.

On Monday, Russian Irina Korzhanenko was ordered to hand back her gold medal from the women's shot putt after testing positive for steroid stanozolol.
