Henman aiming for glamour Davis Cup tie
Tim Henman is desperate for a taste of big-time Davis Cup glory after steering Great Britain past Luxembourg.
The British number one claimed nine sets without loss over the weekend – and then relished the prospect of a much tougher test in September’s World Group qualifiers.
Among the possibilities in tomorrow’s draw is a glamorous home clash against Australia.
And Henman – who wrapped up overall victory by beating Luxembourg’s number one Gilles Muller 7-6 6-2 6-1 – said: “We want to playing in the showpiece matches and we just had to be professional and go out and do a job here.
“We had the incentive of being back in the qualifiers for the World Group. I have never won a World Group match, but it would be a massive opportunity and something I would really relish.
“I fancy our chances anywhere against any team and I really fancy the opportunity.”
