ATP decide not to appeal Rusedski decision

Greg Rusedski is free to continue his career after the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) today decided not to appeal against the decision to clear the British player of taking nandrolone.

ATP chiefs have been considering for the last three weeks whether to appeal against the decision of their own tribunal and take the case to Court for Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The ATP board, chaired by chief executive Mark Miles, today decided to accept the ruling and declare Rusedski innocent.

ATP vice-president David Higdon told the Press Association: “We have decided not to appeal. We have just agreed to help him get back into the game.

“We decided that going to the CAS would not be in the sport’s best interests.”
