Ferrero sets up Verkerk final

Juan Carlos Ferrero cruised into the French Open final with a straight-sets defeat of fellow Spaniard Albert Costa.

The pair met in last year’s final at Roland Garros with Costa coming out on top but Ferrero was in command this time as he ran out a 6-3 7-6 (7/5) 6-4 winner.

In the final he will play Dutchman Martin Verkerk, who surprised seventh seed Guillermo Coria 7-6 (7/4) 6-4 7-6 (7/0) earlier in the day.
