Andy Roddick won a titanic struggle over Younes El Aynaoui at the Australian Open today to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career.

Roddick, who faces Germany’s Rainer Schuettler in the last four, came from two sets down to beat Mikhail Youzhny in the fourth round on Monday and today he ousted El Aynaoui after a marathon fifth set, prevailing 4-6 7-6 (7-5) 4-6 6-4 21-19 in the Rod Laver Arena.

The 20-year-old Roddick is the youngest semi-finalist at the Australian Open in 11 years.
