Hewitt, hoping to become the first Australian man since Mark Edmondson in 1976 to win his home Grand Slam, beat Czech player 6-3 6-2 6-0 in just 90 minutes.

The world number one now faces Morocco's Younes El Aynaoui, who overcame Feliciano Lopez of SPain 5-7 6-2 7-6 7-6, for a place in the last four.
