Clijsters beats Williams to take title
Kim Clijsters stunned Serena Williams in the final of the WTA Championships and sent out a message about the invincibility of the world's top player.
Clijsters posted a surprising 7-5 6-3 victory over the top-seeded American in 85 minutes in the final of the season-ending event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
In defeating Williams for the first time in six meetings, Clijsters handed the world number one only her fifth loss of the season.
The fifth-seeded Belgian claimed her fourth title of the year - the ninth of her career.
