Number one seed Serena takes on Daniela Hantuchova while Venus is up against Chanda Rubin.

Elsewhere in the ladies singles, Martina Hingis continues her comeback against the number six seed Monica Seles.

In the men's event Gustavo Kuerten takes on Dutchman Sjeng Schalken while. fresh from his five-set win over Greg Rusedski, Pete Sampras takes on the number three seed Tommy Haas.
